field recordings, in some respect, are the most radical ways of musical expression. even more so, than say, power electronics, where at least one can envision the artist tweaking knobs — or algorithms. but with field recordings… is it music at all? (what is music after all?) or is it just documentation? if so, can documentation be art? if a documentary film is considered a piece of art...
