simply put: the new vladislav delay album is great. i definitely welcome his return to his grey area glitch/dub techno styling — first and foremost because i loved his early records the most and well, i’m not a sucker for novelty by default. even though he didn’t reinvent himself on vantaa there’s a healthy dose of freshness bracing his sound, ranging from articulated...

field recordings, in some respect, are the most radical ways of musical expression. even more so, than say, power electronics, where at least one can envision the artist tweaking knobs — or algorithms. but with field recordings… is it music at all? (what is music after all?) or is it just documentation? if so, can documentation be art? if a documentary film is considered a piece of art...
